Making Your Maternity Session Feel Like You

When this sweet mama reached out to me for a lifestyle maternity session in Huntsville, Alabama, I was thrilled and honored she’d come to me. I met with her over coffee at Edgar’s Bakery (which, if you haven’t been there, trust me you want to go) and we chatted about her dreams and vision for the session.

For this mom, capturing her family as it was before sweet babe arrived was most important. She wanted memories of this moment on the precipice, these last moments before their family changed forever.

In light of her vision, we decided to keep things simple and natural for her shoot. Rather than dramatic imagery or more posed moments, the focus would be on the people and relationships. This collection of photos really shows that drama or a flowy dress are not necessary for beautiful maternity pictures. While they are beautiful and can be fun, your family makes the images magical.

During your session, we will capture your whole family: mama and the kids, daddy and the kids, lots of hands on bellies, and of course mom and dad together. Everything is about intimacy and connection.
