Your home will work for in-home lifestyle photographs
Your kids will love an in-home session
Your images will feel special
You'll love displaying your in-home lifestyle pictures
Hey mama, I see you out there wishing for family pictures that capture the ones you love the most.
I see you loving your friends' large canvas prints hung on their walls to document big moments.
And I see your uncertainty. I hear the objections all the time: worries about getting kids to a studio, making them dress in matching clothes, and convincing them to pose and smile all at once.
You're right. That sounds overwhelming. But guess what, you have more options than just traditional studio photography.
And it minimizes or eliminates every single one of these concerns.
Objection #1: "My home isn't _______ enough for in-home photos."
I've heard it all: too small, too dark, too messy. And as a mom myself, I understand that feeling. We all want to put our best foot forward.
The good news is that in-home lifestyle photography wants your home to look like you live in it. We might clear out a space to remove distractions, but as a lifestyle photographer I don't expect a model home. I expect evidence of the life you lead, and that is the beauty of in-home photography.
Objection #2: "My kids hate wearing nice matching clothes."
Lifestyle photography prioritizes your family being yourselves and looking like your real life. And that means you can relax and let your kids wear clothes they like.
Obviously we are going to try and avoid neon shoes or big bright logos, but we aren't looking for slicked back hair and shiny shoes. Instead, you should feel like the best version of yourself. You want to look back on these photos and remember the moments, not the clothes.
So relax: no kids in itchy clothes here.
Objection #3: "The photos won't feel special if we're just at home. We should go out somewhere else so they aren't in our boring everyday house."
The toys your kids play with. The furniture you live on. The kitchen you cook in.
These are the settings that hold your life, the places your feet walk through every single day. The sights and sounds you feel are mundane will someday be sweet memories for you and your children.
In-home lifestyle photography captures those moments and gives mamas the gift you didn't know you wanted: memories of the in-between minutes that make up your life.
Objection #4: "I can just take pictures myself and have them on my phone."
When you plan your in-home session, make sure you make a plan to hang up these images on your walls. They're keepsakes, precious memories to display and revisit over and over.
Digital images are good, but they don't carry the same weight as tangible pictures. Studies show that children's self-esteem is improved by having photos of them in the home. They get to see your love for them all over your walls.
So take this as your sign: this spring, book the session and honor that wish you have for the beautiful family photos. You won't regret it!
