The Best Coffee in Huntsville: Angel Island Coffee

Angel's Island Coffee provides more than just an excellent latte; this little shop offers a place to belong.

After 20 years in the Huntsville community, Angel Hussain is an expert at creating a warm atmosphere wherever she goes.

A good cup of coffee is worth its weight in well...espresso beans. But Angel isn't interested in being just another coffee shop in Huntsville.

Instead, she is on a mission to bring North Alabama the belonging she found on the other side of the world.

In a small shop in the Fiji Islands, Angel fell in love with the community built over a warm cup of coffee.

At 16, she couldn't have known where these first steps would take her, but as she served her customers - locals and tourists alike - she found a sort of home.

Families, creatives, coffee-drinkers, non-coffee-drinkers, out-of-towners, and local regulars met in a beautiful melting pot. Everyone was welcome.

This experience inspired Angel to open her own shop years later. Although the location would be vastly different, the heart behind the shop would be the same.

From Fiji to the American south, Angel brought her love of community and good, warm beverages to Huntsville.

And she's been creating community ever since.

"When I founded Angel's Island Coffee, my vision wasn't simply to open another coffee shop. I wanted to build a place where people could pause, connect, and experience genuine hospitality. Coffee is the beginning of that experience, but community is what keeps people coming back.

We want guests to feel like they've stepped away from the rush of everyday life and into a space where they can breathe, meet with friends, work, celebrate milestones, or simply enjoy a great cup of coffee. For more than two decades, that vision has guided every decision we've made. Our goal has never been to serve the most coffee; it's has always been to build a place people are proud to call their coffee shop."

Angel's Island is mobile, which means the cozy vibes can go wherever you need them.

It's been 20 years of serving coffee, but Angel isn't done dreaming.

Her Mobile Espresso Bar is an extension of the vision she already has. She wants to foster "exceptional hospitality, meaningful community connections, and memorable coffee experiences—both inside our café and wherever our Mobile Espresso Bar travels."

Whether its a corporate event, a private party, or a wedding, Angel and her espresso bar would love to be a part of creating just the right atmosphere.

If you're hoping to connect people, Angel should be your first call.

In her own words, Angel describes her coffee shop as a place everyone and anyone can belong.

"What makes Angel's Island Coffee unique isn't simply our menu—it's our mission. For more than 20 years, we've intentionally built a place where community comes first. We've had the privilege of watching first dates turn into marriages, students become professionals, entrepreneurs launch businesses, and families create traditions around gathering here. Those stories remind us that we're in the people business just as much as we're in the coffee business. Our goal has never been to be just another coffee shop. We've always wanted to create a place where people belong."
