For me the summer months are just one hot, steamy blur.
We start every summer out the same way, making our bucket list, dreaming up all the adventures we are going to go on.
And then just like that I am reminded that my kiddos have their own little lives and summer is just as busy as any other time.
Filled with summer camps, grandparent visits, sleepovers almost every night.
All the things.
And then before you know it you're knee deep in back to school shopping, curriculum planning routine bootcamp for these ferral summer creatures you've been keeping alive since May.
Anybody?
Just me? Ok, cool.
And just like that school is back in session and Fall is right around the corner.
Spoiler alert though, it's still like 95 % outside at this point. So while everything in Hobby Lobby and Home Goods may be telling you "It's Fall, Yall!", we are still very much in summer mindset around here for a little while longer.
And I think that's exactly why most people don't think to reach out and schedule a Fall family shoot for September. Because all they can see is the Hellacious heat of August.
And August boob sweat isn't a cute look, ammiright?
But don't count September out just yet! It's actually one of the BEST months to schedule your family photos.
This means you can get your photos done before the holiday rush of late October without the heat and harsh light of summer.
To sweeten the deal, you also get your fall pictures before the evenings get too cold for comfort.
True fall in North Alabama is pretty much impossible to predict anyway, so I advise people not to wait until the weather is perfect to book. By then, it's too late.
By September the light is a deep gold, and because my editing style is warm in general, your photos will look every bit of fall.
Plus you can get your holiday cards and family photos done early so you are a step ahead when October hits.
This is your reminder that after school starts it's basically October and then you have pumpkin patches, school events, Thanksgiving planning, Christmas shopping, holiday work functions, and all the rest.
And then, in the middle of it all, you remember that you wanted to get family photos this year. But now you have to fit it in between all these other things, and your favorite photographer is likely already booked. To make it more stressful, you end up having very little time to get your gallery back and put together your Christmas cards and gifts.
Don't find yourself saying "how is it already November?"
Let's get your September session booked now!
