The owner and founder of Mason Dixon Bakery in Huntsville understood the assignment. They recently went through a shift in structure within the beloved local bakery and knew it was time to have images that showcased the powerhouse women that they are. 

Mason Dixon has consistently been the top bakery in the North Alabama area and it's no question as to why. These women show up authentically and powerfully every time they step in to their kitchen, in front of clients, on stage to speak or in front of the camera. Locals love and adore them and they will continue to be sought after for both daily baked goods and full service wedding catering.

Small Beginnings

When Dr. Ashley Johnson discovered she had Celiac disease, she knew the transition into a new way of life would be hard. After all, who wants to give up bread? So she put her background in chemistry to work and started creating gluten-free food to fool the harshest critics. She started selling her food at farmer's markets, but she didn't stop there.

Growing Up

Realizing the demand for her food was strong, Ashley opened a storefront and became a local favorite. Whether or not her customers were gluten-free, they loved eating her food, and that's all that really counts with a bakery.

Expanding Her Scope

The longer she was in business, the more she realized her community needed more than pastries. They needed a healthy and delicious allergen-friendly option, tough to come by in a small city like Huntsville. So finally in 2015 Ashley added a bistro to the bakery - and Huntsville was delighted.

Moving On Up

In 2022, Mason Dixon Bakery and Bistro Moved into their current brick and mortar location, which has a private event space and much more room for Ashley's clientele.

Big Impact

As Ashley's business continues to grow, she's grown her team as well and welcomed Rachel in to help lead Mason Dixon into the future. Seeing two strong women come together to run a successful business brings me so much joy - especially when I get to take their branding photos!
