Let's talk about newborn life. The sweet milky smell. The fuzzy head. The tiny toes. Little snuffles. We all wish we could bottle these elements and keep them forever.
And then there are the less glamorous moments that you'd be fine with leaving in the past: exploded diapers, sleep deprivation, spit up, you know the drill.
These more messy moments might be the ones that make you think an in-home newborn sessions isn't for you, and I get it. Having someone come into your home at such a tender time is incredibly vulnerable.
But would you be surprised to learn that some of these messy elements are actually the reasons in-home newborn sessions work so well?
Let me tell you more - and if you are in North Alabama, let's chat about how to make your in-home newborn session happen!
Yep we've all been there. Dishes, dirty laundry, clutter, other kids' toys, dust, and all the rest.
I'm here to tell you that a messy house shouldn't stop you, not even for a minute.
We can move clutter away from areas in your home and take pictures there. It's quick and easy, and your home will look tidy in your photos.
More than that, a messy home is no reason to sacrifice the keepsakes you'll get from an in-home session.
This also applies to those of us feeling insecure about our postpartum bodies.
The truth is that you might look tired, and you definitely look different than before.
But those are earned changes, marks of your transformation into this new person. They are beautiful, and this is what you look like right now.
You deserve to have the pictures. You deserve to be honored. You deserve to record these precious moments.
As a mama myself, I know this one all too well. You worry your baby won't cooperate.
What if my baby has a blowout?
What if my baby spits up all over me or worse, my photographer?
What if my baby won't stop crying?
What if I need to stop and nurse?
I'm telling you now, we will do this together. I have had three babies, and I've photographed many, many more. Any experienced newborn photographer, including me, will know how to coach you and baby.
And you know what? If you need to nurse, do it; nursing makes for such tender moments.
This is the easiest one.
I have a client closet to help you out, and if you need to, I can help you pick out something new.
I'm always happy to help put together outfits, and I have lots of resources to help you figure it out.
These keepsake photos are absolutely worth the effort!
